Liberica Whisky Sour
For this specific Liberica Whisky Sour coffee cocktail recipe, as you can see in the picture we were using Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey . This particular Kentucky Bourbon is an award winning find with is a complexity of flavours as mentioned on their website is comprised of more than 200 detectable flavor notes. As per the picture we used a coupe glass.
Recipe:
- 2 oz whisky
- 1 oz Liberica Espresso
- 3/4 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 1/2 ounce yuzu syrup
- 1/2 ounce egg white
- Traditional Citrus bitters
Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Double strain and pour into a chilled old fashioned glass. Express and serve with a lemon twist garnish or dried lemon wheel as pictured. The Traditional Bitters are a favourite addition from Saskatchewan, however you may use other citrus bitters.
Variations
I would recommend sampling and testing out different variations of this drink using a Canadian whisky. A few options may include Vancouver’s Liberty Distillery Trust Single Grain Whiskey or Saskatchewan’s Last Mountain Distillery Whisky. We are also going to be using Vancouver based Long Table Distillery Curacao Orange Liqueur which not only will enhance the citrus, but has a variety of 10 botanicals to bring a complexity of flavours.
